The concept of “leapfrogging” is a transformative one that can empower emerging economies to build health systems that are more focused on better health outcomes, financial sustainability and people satisfaction. In doing so, it can help make economies fairer, strengthen social stability and increase well-being. While the case for leapfrogging is compelling, making it work is ridden with challenges.

The report gathers insights from 50 case studies in 20 different emerging economies and identifies the lessons learned, including ways to scale up the process and initiate broader health system transformation.
