Everywhere worldwide we are seeing a growing trend rethinking the design of the next generation of hospitals. Elements like technology, movility, modularity, sustainability, patient centeredness, clinical management, clustering, productivity, just in time, functionality, etc. are "floating in the air" related with the new hospitals.

The flagship of Swedish hospitals will be open to patients in 2016 and be fully completed in the autumn 2017. Surprisingly different to most of the trends (smaller hospitals in terms of size and beds, more horizontal than vertical, very well integrated into a healthcare network, etc.), it is planned as a huge structure with a very interesting approach... so, what is the model of hospital behind of this "big" proposal?
